Autumn After Dark - Gosforth Civic Theatre

Imagine an autumn evening, warm light, the atmosphere of the forest around you, and 90 minutes simply set aside to paint.

Autumn After Dark is a relaxed, artist-led painting session at Gosforth Civic Theatre, inspired by the rich colours and atmosphere of autumn woods.

We’ll begin by exploring an autumn-inspired palette and how those colours work together. With woodland imagery and subtle sounds creating the atmosphere around us, I’ll guide you through colour, texture and layers as you build your own painting.

You won’t be copying a set image. You might take inspiration from a colour, a shape, the light through the trees, or simply how the landscape makes you feel. I’ll demonstrate techniques along the way and I’ll be there to help, but there’s no pressure to keep up and nothing you need to get right.

This is about giving yourself some time to slow down, switch off and enjoy the simple process of making something with your hands.

Come on your own or bring someone with you. No painting experience is needed and everything will be ready for you when you arrive. At the end of the evening, your autumn painting is yours to take home.
