About the event
WINTER PAUSE
Step out of the December rush and spend 90 minutes slowing down with paint and colour at Gosforth Civic Theatre.
For this session, we’ll be painting from observation rather than following a fixed image. A simple winter café scene will be set up in front of us, with warm light, a café window and seasonal details to inspire your painting.
I’ll guide you through the process, showing you how to look at the scene, simplify what you see and gradually build your painting with colour, shape and light. You can follow the guidance closely or interpret the scene in your own way. There’s no expectation for everyone’s painting to look the same.
The session is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who already enjoys painting. Everything you need will be ready when you arrive, so you can simply settle in and start.
Come on your own or book with a friend. The café will be open if you’d like to buy a drink during the evening.
