Finally

Finally
Acrylic on hot-pressed paper
20 × 30 cm
Framed
Inspired by the Northumberland landscape in late summer, Finally captures the moment when the heather comes into bloom and purple begins to spread across the green hills.
I return to these landscapes throughout the year, but there is something particular about this brief change in colour. The contrast of purple heather, green landscape, water and open sky became the starting point for this painting.
Finally is about that moment in the season arriving, and the landscape suddenly looking different again.
